Survivor on DVD!

Ok, I know this isn't Survivor: Nicaragua related per se, but I felt I had to get it out there for all of you to see, and that is that Survivor: Africa and Survivor: Marquesas have officially gone up on Amazon as Made to Order official releases!!!!!!!

Now I don't have all the details yet, and they are just in the pre-order stage, but there seems to be massive hype around them already, which is a good thing

What are Made to Order you might be asking? Well as a way for creators to cut down on costs, they simply have these copies made when someone has decided to purchase them, that way there is no waste, but it also probably means there will be minimal additions to the episodes themselves, allthough there are claims with these sets that some unseen footage will be included. I have no idea what the Discs will look like as of yet, or what the quality will be, but I hope they are consistent with the previous seasons, in quality for sure, but I hope in Disc art as well. It would be dissapointing to open them up to find basically DVD-R's just inside, all blank and white

Anywho, they have matched the cover art for previous sesasons, which is a great thing! Here they are!





So there you go! I will try and keep you guys updated on any more information I get, but thats what I have so far! I am SUPER elated, I literally freaked out when I heard

And hopefully this leads to even more seasons being released. I am extra happy they are starting with these 2, as they were the ones that were kinda super-unobtainable, so having them come out just makes me happy. Once Amazon and Cook Islands are released, at least I will be able to sleep happy (happy-ish, we all know I want them all )

Anywho, off to see what else I can find out!

I do't get why they put Rob on the cover for Marquesas, he went pre-merge in that season. Sure he was big in future seasons, but in this season he was all that great. Oh well, I'm jsut happy they're being released! WOOT!

What seasons are already out on DVD? I know Borneo, Australia, Pearl Islands, All-Stars, Vanuatu and Palau are out...But I also saw covers for Thailand and Fiji (?)...

Anyway, I'm just glad my favorites from the first four seasons plus PI and AS all made the cover...Colleen, Elisabeth, Kelly G., Neleh, Christa and Amber...I didn't really expect them to put Mia and Janu on the Vanuatu and Palau covers...lol...If the Thailand and Fiji are legit, then it sucks for me since they don't have Penny and Stacy on them...

Daishan, those covers you saw were likely the fan-made ones that someone over on Survivorsucks made. They did a really good job, making them look just like the real thing and everything. Thats why I had to do a double take when I learned about Africa coming out on DVD, because they looked so similar, but someone has gone and confirmed that they are infact different covers.

A little update info too, I asked someone at sucks who seemed to know about these being released, and he said that the quality and boxes and everything should be very similar to the sets taht are already released, the only real difference between the two is that u have to buy these off amazon, and they are being made to order only. The prevailing wisdom seems to suggest no commentaries either, but I haven't seen any confirmation on those. Anywho, I am still super stoked, and have already pre-ordered them!

No, these DVDs will not be sold in stores, only from Amazon, as they are made to order through a company run by Amazon, in cooperation with CBS. As they are Made to Order, you will not see them on your store shelves.

As for the commentary, still no official word, but I will keep you guys updated. I too hope that it is on there, but I wont hold my breath.

Yes! I have every season that's been released so far. I probably won't buy these right away, because it gives my parents something to get me for Christmas, but nonetheless, this is super exciting. I hope they release all of them. By doing it this way (made to order), I don't see why they wouldn't. Most of the seasons are already on iTunes anyway, this is basically the same principle, with the addition of some packaging design and a hard copy. I don't want to invest in an iTunes season that will take up my memory on my computer, won't play in a DVD player and that will be a pain to transfer every time I get a new computer. This gives us the same thing in hard copy form, without the huge risk for the manufacturer if they don't sell.

So no commentaries! This makes me sad, but I honestly didnt think it would really happen anyway. But the early show interviews is a good thing, and the inclusion of the other episodes is pretty awesome also! So all in all I am very happy, and these will make great additions to my collections!
