The Testimony of Deena

There is a long thread over at survivorsucks in which Deena (aka trialdawg) has been posting messages and answering questions about the game. She comes across as the same smart, feisty, funny, and likeable women we saw on TV. Among the revelations:

* Her closest friends from the game are Rob, Jenna, and Dave (who she got to know really well on the jury). She seems to like all the people who made it to the merge, even Roger, and takes issue with the sore loser comments that Jeanne has made about the other women.

* Deena, not Rob, coined the nickname Twigs and Sticks.

* If she'd gone the the final 4 with Rob, Jenna, and Christy, she would have taken Christy to the finals, because Rob and Jenna would be harder to beat.

* She attributes Matt's strange behaviour to the effects of dehydration malnourishment. One incident stands out:
"I was to do fire watch with Matt by myself, which always scared the living crap out of me, going postal comes to mind. It started to rain. I told the guys under the shelter to get the gear under cover, but it appeared to me that everyone was asleep ... Matt came back into camp and collapsed on the forest floor in the middle of the dark and started going nutty. It wasn't as if he was screeming, he was mumbling to himself and crying out to me for water. he was literally frothing at the mouth. It was raining and he just was there in the dark moaning. Scared me to death. I boiled water for him as fast as I could and he drank it hot and everything. I moved him as close to the fire as I could get him and he just passed out from exhaustion and hunger and dehydration. His body started to turn against him and there was nothing he could do to prevent it. Matt is a normal person and great and fun loving in real life but he lost it and got freaky out there. This was not an act he was creepy. So he can say what he wants but I was there, people with more faculties than that have been put away for a 48 hour observation."

In response to the Jenna bashers, Deena says:
"Why did I and why do I like Jenna???? Because Jenna is real. She is not self-centered she is not all about her. She cared about the people she was with, remember her statements to Rob? She cared about the people she bonded with, she asked about our families and about our lives. It did not go out one ear onto the forest floor. He mom is sick, I will attest to that fact. Her parents are fabulous and if I couldn't win and neither could Rob then I am glad it went to her. No she did not bond with everyone out there, nobody did, people in real life do not. Unlike most 21/22 year olds, she wants to be at home. She goes to school but cares about her family. She could have any man she wants but she chooses to make sure it is the right one. She has depth. She is there for her mom when her mother has treatments and is nutty about her animals. She is intelligent and beautiful, but again I had the benefit of spending a zillion hours with her. I would not hold it against her for voting me off, I blame Heidi for that move. Still that is what the game is about, I was strong and off I went. I have no time to hold grudges unlike some in my tribe."

See, that is awesome, and it makes a lot of sense.

I am glad she puts to rest a lot of quyestions, especially all those comments how the entire jury was cracked except *****.

There is a lot to Jenna we did not see, and I think people are just being naive when they think they know everything that went out there and hown it should have gone based on just the few hours we saw.

Thanks for posting this here, its rather interesting. And just to inform you all, Dave, Jenna, Heidi, Rob and Roger are all there answering questions too. Jenna and Heidi have their own threads along with Deena, and then theres a thread for all the Amazon contestants where they're answering questions. Actually Dave is doing most of the question answering but thats juuust fine with me

So far, I'm most impressed with Deena'a and Heidi's threads. Both give new insights into the game. Heidi explains many incidents where she appears clueness. For example, she bid against Jenna for the letter, because JP had warned that is people didn't bid againt each other, he'd cancel the auction.

Best revelation - by Roger, that he used drugs back in the 60's. The thought of Roger high on marijuana makes me smile

Jenna & Heidi promise that today (tonight?), they will appear together in a thread to answer questions.

In you opinion...but I base "good-looking" on what I find inside too.....and we can argue for pages and pages of this thread about it, but we both know it ain't gonna change our respective opinions.
